One provincial governance board has replaced Alberta’s nine regional health authority boards, the Alberta Mental Health Board, Alberta Cancer Board and Alberta Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission (AADAC). This initiative is one part of the Alberta government’s health action plan aimed at improving access to health services and making the province’s health care system more efficient and effective.
